The definition of “Meta” (Graffiti Art Canvas)
February 2nd, 2006
A while back I had a job interview with a man who… well… I think he wants to take over the world! (but that’s a story for another day maybe). Anyway, he was very smart, he asked me some of the questions that will show up soon in the puzzles section. He also introduced me to the word “Meta”. It was a word that interested me (and I liked the letters and the word), so I did a graffiti canvas of it. According to one entry on Dictionary.com “meta” means…
“A prefix meaning one level of description higher. If X is some concept then meta-X is data about, or processes operating on, X.”
For example, a meta-discussion would be a discussion about a discussion, meta-information is information about information. A meta-painting would be a painting of a painting (I guess).
This isn’t exactly a true “meta-painting”, but it is a painting of the word “Meta”
